Merchants now have the ability to run a paper check through a scanner, electronically deposit the check into their bank account, and eliminate the time-consuming process of daily trips to the bank. Merchants can also opt to have the check funds verified and/or guaranteed before payment is accepted from the merchant eliminating chasing down bad checks.
